Who We Are

This Privacy Policy applies to devonajones.com and the Attachment Assessment platform, both operated by Sin Miedo Consulting, based in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. "We," "us," and "our" refer to Sin Miedo Consulting. "You" refers to any visitor, subscriber, or user who interacts with our website or services.

Purpose and Limitations of This Platform

Age Requirement

This platform is intended for adults only. You must be 18 years of age or older to create an account. By registering, you confirm that you meet this requirement. We don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we become aware that a user is under 18, we'll close their account and remove their data.

What Information We Collect

We collect information you give us directly, information generated automatically when you use the platform, and data from third-party services connected to your account.

Information you provide directly:

• Name and email address when you create an account, join a waitlist, or subscribe to our newsletter
• Password, stored in hashed form and never readable by us or anyone else
• Payment details when you make a purchase (processed by our payment provider; we don't store card numbers)
• Your responses to the 34-question attachment assessment
• Journal entries, daily check-in responses, and trigger logs you create within the platform
• Messages sent through our contact form

Information collected automatically:

• Browser type, device type, and operating system
• IP address and approximate location
• Pages visited, time on page, and links clicked
• Referring website or search terms that brought you here
• Session tokens used to keep you logged in across visits (30-day sessions)

A Note on Sensitive Data

The Attachment Assessment collects information about your emotional patterns, relationship behaviors, and personal history. Journal entries and trigger logs can contain details that are private by nature. This is a different category of information from a newsletter opt-in, and we treat it accordingly.

Your assessment responses, journal entries, check-ins, and trigger logs are used only to generate your personalized results and support your progress within the platform. They are not used for advertising, sold to third parties, or shared with anyone outside the services required to operate the platform.

Administrator Access to User Data

The platform includes an administration panel used by Devon Jones and any designated administrators of Sin Miedo Consulting. Through this panel, administrators have the ability to view user accounts, assessment results, and platform activity, including journal entries and trigger logs.

This access exists to support platform operations, respond to support requests, and ensure the platform is functioning correctly. It is not used to monitor users or share individual data externally. By using this platform, you acknowledge that your data, including journal entries and trigger logs, may be accessible to platform administrators.

If this is a concern, do not enter information in the journal or trigger log features that you would not be comfortable with an administrator reading.

How We Use Your Information

• Create and manage your account
• Generate your personalized attachment profile, dimension scores, and action plan
• Store your assessment history so you can track changes over time
• Deliver daily check-in prompts, journal features, and milestone tracking
• Send transactional emails you need to use the platform, including verification codes and account notices
• Send marketing and newsletter communications you've opted into at signup (you can unsubscribe at any time)
• Process payments and manage purchases
• Respond to support requests
• Improve the platform and its content
• Meet applicable legal obligations

We don't sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for their marketing purposes.

AI-Generated Content

Your assessment responses are sent to OpenAI (GPT-4) to generate your personalized results, including your attachment profile, strengths, growth areas, Attraction Archetype, and four-week action plan. This means your responses are transmitted to OpenAI's servers as part of that process.

OpenAI's handling of API data is governed by their privacy policy, available at openai.com/policies/privacy-policy. We don't use your data to train AI models. Under OpenAI's API terms, data submitted through the API is not used for model training by default.

Results are presented as research-informed insights. They are not clinical findings and are not produced by a licensed professional.

Email Communications

When you create an account, you'll be asked to confirm whether you want to receive marketing emails and newsletters from us. That choice is yours to make at signup, and you can change it at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in any marketing email or by contacting us directly.

Transactional emails (including email verification codes, account confirmations, and security notices) are part of the service and are sent regardless of your marketing preference while your account is active.

Cookies and Sessions

This site uses cookies and session tokens for authentication, site analytics, and understanding how visitors use our content. The platform uses JWT-based authentication with 30-day persistent sessions. You can adjust cookie settings in your browser, though doing so may affect your ability to stay logged in.

Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate the platform:

• OpenAI — processes assessment responses to generate personalized results
• Brevo (via Nodemailer) — handles transactional email delivery
• Payment processors for purchase transactions
• Analytics tools for site usage data

We share only the minimum information each service needs to function.

Data Storage and Retention

Your account data is stored on secure servers. This includes your assessment responses and results history, journal entries, daily check-ins, trigger logs, and progress milestones. This data is retained for as long as your account is active so the platform can support ongoing progress tracking.

Some data may be stored or processed on servers outside Canada, including in the United States, through the third-party services we use. As a Canadian business, we operate under the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).

Account Deletion

You can request deletion of your account and personal data at any time by emailing devon@devonajones.com with the subject line "Account Deletion Request." Include the email address associated with your account.

We'll process your request within 30 days. Upon deletion, we'll remove your personal data from active systems, including your profile, assessment history, journal entries, check-ins, and trigger logs. Some records may be retained for a limited period where required by law or for legitimate business purposes such as fraud prevention.

Your Rights

Under PIPEDA, you have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate information
• Request deletion of your personal information, subject to legal obligations
• Withdraw consent for marketing communications at any time
• Lodge a complaint with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada

Security

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. These include password hashing, secure session management, rate limiting on authentication routes, and environment-based secret management. No system is completely secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security of data transmitted over the internet.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Continued use of the platform after changes are posted means you accept the updated terms. If changes are material, we'll make a reasonable effort to notify active users.
